Tutorial: How to downgrade Minecraft
When Mojang releases a new version of Minecraft, most servers (including ours) are simply unable to update immediately because we need to wait for Bukkit (server software) and sometimes various plugins to update first.
Unfortunately, This can sometimes take up to a week to do.

However, the new launcher that was released along side Minecraft 1.6 allows you to easily pick between the version you want to run so that you can enjoy the new version and switch back to play on your favorite server.

Changing your Minecraft version is a very simple process:
  1. Start the Minecraft launcher.
  2. Click on the "Edit Profile" button.
  3. Within the "Profile Editor", click the drop-down list which is labeled "Use Version" and then set the version to the one you wish to use.
  4. Click on the "Save Profile" button. The version should now be listed on the bottom right hand side of your launcher.
  5. Click on the "Play" button and have fun. Smile
